hey wendy,
as the article said, if you have a pool.....what about swimming in it? it may offer benefits that traditional treadmills don't, but no ones arguing against that.....swimming burns calories, offers no risk of injury as you stated, and doesn't cost several thousand dollars to put something in your existing pool.

p.s. if you were the inventor, designer, or had something to do with the production of this underwater treadmill, i apoligize if your feelings were hurt.

The Underwater Treadmill is great innovation so I'm not sure why it would appear in your segment. Consumers from top performing athletes to patients with joint issues can benefit dramatically from using a device like this. A lot of people have pools they never use anymore and this treadmill gives people several motivating reason to get back in the pool: You burn twice as many calories on an underwater treadmill than you do on traditional land, underwater treadmills simulate running on land more accurately than running on a traditional treadmill, there is no risk of injury so people with knee, ankle, hip, feet problems can exercise without pain or discomfort. None of that is squesmish or horrifying unless you are opposed to innovation and education. I would encourage you to learn more about this the benefits of aquatic fitness and use your site would want to promote and educate others rather than "scare".
