Unfortunately I bought this treadmill a couple years ago and in the last month when I was 30 minutes into my workout it would power down, the speed and incline both went to zero. I was able to start it up again and get it going but a few times after this kept happening. Luckily when I called where I purchased it, they came out and fixed it as I was still on my 2 year warranty. However, a couple weeks later the problem continued to happened and therefore wasn't fixed. the service person who fixed it swaid he replaced the electircal stuff but since it's continued to happened i'm not sure what is wrong with it. I called them again to come and look at it and i'm hoping that I don't have to pay as the problem wasn't originally fixed. Needless to say very disappointed as I had spent 2500 on this 2 years ago to only have it not workig now seems like a terrible investment. Has anyone else had this problem??

I purchased this machine in July and I've bad some problems I can't seem to resolve through the Support Email, Call center or service rep that visited our home. Here's the problem, once I get about 16% incline, I have to hold on the handle bars with all my strength or I'm going to be sprinting just to keep from flying off this machine. I realize the speed is supposed to be limited as it inclines, but this is not happening.

Is this normal?
Is anyone else having this issue?
I'm getting really frustrated!

I have this treadmill. We purchased it 18 months ago & I loved it! I enjoyed the options of manual, pre-programed or the Jillian Michaels Ifit card. When we had it for 13 months, the belt started making noise, so I ordered the lube kit, and cleaned up the belt. Then it started to slow down. I called Nordic Track was told to order another lube kit, so I did and applied that. Still did not fix it ($100 later) I called them again. They had me push a series of buttons to run some test. She tells me "I think it is the controller, but am not sure." I tell her I think its the motor and she argues with me that it isn't. She insists its not the motor, tells me it will cost $180 for the new controller + $150 for someone to come out. However, I have to order the part first before I can schedule the appt. I do not want to order a part, pay for shipping for it, when I don't know what it is. She advises me to remove all these parts, and then call back for more instructions.

While I realize I didn't buy the exended warranty, for $1500, a treadmill should last more than 14 months and customer service should be able to assist you when you call. I feel very put off by the whole process and the true lack of customer assistance from Nordic Track.

My advice, if you are buying this: BUY the EXTRA WARRANTY. Since this happened to me, I have done multiple searches on line and it seems this is a known problem with this particular model.

I just got one about 7/22/2011 from the show room floor at Sears for $619.00 and I am about 90% pleased with it. It's very quiet. The programs will do you in, and the different screen settings are nice. When it's inclined to over 30%, it gets a little wobbly but it's ok. You have to stay positions in the middle of the belt. When you are running flat, it squeaks on every step but I just tuned it out with the TV or Music. I wish the platform was longer because you have to really pay attention, or you will be flying off the back of it. So far, I can't find a mph reading. It does show how far you've gone in miles or kilometers, but it doesn't how fast you are running/walking in mph. I do know #5 is a 12 minute mile and #6 is a 10 minute mile, but I want the machine tell me that like my old Pro-Form treadmill. I tried using a Ifit card in it for a regular Nordic Track Treadmill and it didn't work. I'm wondering if it will only take Incline Trainer Ifit cards only. I'm gonna take my card to Sears and try it in a regular treadmill to see if it works. I'm not paying $25 for a Jillian Michaels card. The treadmill has enough programs already. I would recommend this treadmill, however it would be a good idea to have a regular treadmill for long runs as well.

I have this exact incline trainer. I have had it just three days. It is so easy to do. It feels great. I am starting out at 2mph at 12-percent incline. I go about thirty min.

I am not kidding when I say that I am already feeling better. Walking is really the only thing I can do, and the only thing I want to do. Now I can make walking change my body into a result that others kill themselves trying to achieve by running and or jogging. Ya gotta work smarter, not harder.

Thanks for your time. :)

Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you're using? I'm going to start my own blog in the near future but I'm having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

Update: The guys delivered it on time and even put it together for me. I do not go higher than 20% incline and in fact I stick more w/ 15%. If I go any higher you have to hold on and by the end of the workout I feel it in my wrists. I can walk on this thing for well over an hour while watching a movie on tv. The noise level is not bad and my family doesn't hear it in the rest of the house (I am only walking at maybe 3 or 4 mph at the 15% incline). I LOVE the fan that blows right in my face (I'm 5'2 so this will not be the case for taller folks). The heart rate monitor is pretty accurate when I compare it to the HR monitor I wear around my chest. It's only been a little over a month since I've had it and I'm happy to report no complaints.

I just bought this today at Sears to be delivered Thurs. Purchased for $1299 before tax, delivery, 3yr warranty. I chose this machine b/c of the incline. I don't know if I'll necessarily stick with 40% but all the other machines only go up to 10% or 15% max. That's not much of a challenge especially since I only want to walk so as to protect my knees from impact. I was hoping to read a reply to the comment about the impact on your back from this machine. I felt it at the store when I tried it, but that's probably b/c I'm out of shape to begin with. I'll report back in a few months and give you an honest update on this not-so-cheap-but-apparently-a-steal-at-this-price machine. By the way, I did read somewhere that this machine is not good for someone who weighs more than 175lbs! b/c the motor size can't take the impact at this incline. You get a lifetime warranty on the motor though!

I just tried one of these out at Sports Authority. It is an awesome machine! I'm 6'6" 280. I hike and mountain climb frequently. This thing gets you cookin off the calories right away. Your warmup is about 10 seconds... I wanted to try it with a backpack on heh. Wish I could afford one.

I have occasional lower back pain also, but the trainer helps. Before I start I stretch and warm up my lower back. I would suggest that you check with a trainer or doctor to make sure it is OK and get some excersizes to stretch and strengthen the areas that have pain. If the pain doesn't go away after you stop or it isn't releived with a single ibuprofen, please see your doctor. Better safde than sorry.
