The Cost of the Treadmill

Regardless of the type of treadmill you are purchasing, the cost will certainly be one factor that you will want to consider.  In general, you should expect to pay over $1,000 for a folding treadmill that will be used mainly for walking.  If you plan to do a lot of jogging or running on the treadmill, on the other hand, you should expect to pay over $1,500 for a quality machine.

Ease of Use

While a folding treadmill will certainly help you save space, you don’t want to have to go through a major ordeal every time you need to use the machine.  Therefore, you should look for a folding treadmill that comes complete with hydraulics.  This way, it will be a cinch to fold it up or down.

You should also consider how easily the treadmill can be moved, particularly if you will need to frequently move it from its storage area in order to use it.  If you have to tilt the treadmill back on two wheels in order to move it, you may find the task to be a bit difficult.  After all, many treadmills weigh 200 pounds or more.  So, if ease of movement is important for you, look for a model that contains four wheels.

Stability

One of the biggest concerns consumers have had with folding treadmills is a lack of stability.  Today’s folding treadmills are far more stable, but be certain to try out different models in order to make certain the one you are considering feels solid.  Be sure to try walking as well as jogging on the treadmill to make certain it provides you with the stability you need.
