Several famous actors and actresses have been plumbers at one time or another. These include Harry Patch, Bob Hoskins, Ozzy Osbourne, and Joe Wurzelbacher. But which actors were the most famous plumbers before they became famous actors?
Bob Hoskins
Known as one of the more underappreciated talents of his generation, British actor Bob Hoskins has left a number of memorable characters in his wake. While he was a renowned character actor, he was also an accomplished director, having directed several cult classics.
He started his acting career at the age of 36, and it wasn’t long before he made his debut in the small screen. After a series of smaller roles, he moved up to a larger role in the early seventies.
In addition to his roles in the screen, Hoskins also worked as a plumber. He was a plumber’s assistant, and he also worked as a manual laborer during the hard times in England.
Sir Michael Caine
Despite the fact that he is regarded as one of the greatest actors in history, Michael Caine started his career as a plumber. He worked as an assistant plumber for several years before his movie career began.
His first movie role was as Harry Palmer in The Ipcress File. Michael Caine is now one of the most popular actors of all time. His career has spanned eight decades. He has been nominated for six Academy Awards and has appeared in more than 115 films. He has also won two academy awards.
Caine was born in London and was raised in a family of poor people. He lived with his parents and younger brother. His father was a fish vendor. When he was 18, he got involved in bank robberies. He served time in prison. During this time, his mother was in and out of prison.
Ozzy Osbourne
Among the many career achievements of Ozzy Osbourne is his tenure in Black Sabbath. Ozzy is known for his vocal prowess and his ability to juggle several projects at once. Besides Black Sabbath, Ozzy has also embarked on a solo career.
Ozzy Osbourne’s career in the heavy metal genre is a long one, but it’s one that’s sure to yield many more years of musicmaking. A recent tour was pushed back due to injury. But that’s not to say Ozzy hasn’t been able to find time to work on new material. Osbourne has been known to work on his own projects, such as a new game based on his career.
Harry Patch
Despite his age, Harry Patch was a highly decorated World War I soldier. check out Candu Plumbing of Chatsworth fought in the battles of Passchendaele and Ypres. He was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal. He also received the National Service Medal. He was one of the longest living combatants of the war.
Harry Patch was born in June 1898. He was a teenager when World War I broke out, and he joined the army at age 16. He was one of the oldest men to have fought in the war. He died in 2009 at the age of 111. His death was an “enormous loss”, according to biographer Richard Van Emden.
Joe Wurzelbacher
During the 2008 presidential campaign, a plumber named Joe the Plumber became a national sensation. He was the subject of multiple debates, and his questions about Obama’s proposed tax plan were the hottest ticket on the political calendar.
While it is not surprising that Joe the Plumber got a mention at a debate, it is surprising that he did not get a fair shake. It is interesting that the Republicans have stifled a candidate who is an outsider, who has demonstrated an anti-establishment ethos, and who has made it clear he does not want McCain to be their nominee.
“Joe the Plumber” is not a real person, but a pseudonym. His real name is Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, and he is a licensed plumber.
TAPS founders and friends work as plumbers for Roto-Rooter
Having worked as both a plumber and a paranormal investigator, I can attest to the TAPS founders and their ilk’s claim to fame. In particular, I’m talking about Grant Wilson, who co-founded the TAPS with Jason Hawes. The two have since moved on to their next gigs, including running the new incarnation of the Rhode Island Paranormal Society, or Ghost Nation, as the name suggests.
The TAPS has been featured on the television in the form of a 10 hourly program. The show also features the co-founders and their ilk on private ghost hunting excursions, as well as a whole slew of paranormal related activities. TAPS has become a major player on the East Coast, thanks in no small part to the Syfy Network.
